Aquatics Manager
Location:
St Thomas YMCA - 20 High St, St Thomas, ON
Start Date:
June 2023
Salary:
$45,000 - $50,000 annually

In this role, you will:
- Build an understanding of the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario policy and procedures
- Act as a YMCA ambassador, demonstrating the YMCA core values in your daily work.
- Responsible for the development, scheduling and delivery of Aquatics programs and
- Recruitment, training, and mentoring of all staff and volunteer team members for the
services
- Provide direct leadership in programs modeling/ mentoring service excellence
- Regular usage of pool chemicals and cleaning supplies for water and deck equipment
- Role model YMCA Standards, YMCA Values and Commitment to Service
- 7590% of work time is spent in the pool or on the pool deck in moist, humid climate
- conditions
- Ensure all policies and procedures are being followed
Education and Skills Qualifications:
Aquatics experience and certifications are preferred but
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard
- Pool (current certification an asset)
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard
- Waterfront / Waterpark / Surf an asset
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C (current certification from Lifesaving Society, Red Cross or St. John
- YMCA Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor or Red Cross Water Safety
- Lifesaving Society Lifesaving and Emergency First Aid Instructor (current certification an asset)
- Lifesaving Society National Lifeguard
Examiner an asset
- YMCA Aquatic Trainer certification an asset
- Experience working with children, youth, and adults.
- Exceptional communication skills, relationshipbuilding skills, and organizational skills
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Experience managing a budget an asset.
- Experience providing direct leadership to a staff team.
- University degree or college diploma in recreation, business, and/or related fields AND/OR
supervision, preferably within a YMCA or similar company.
- Lifeguard experience an asset.
- Current and acceptable Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening is a condition
- It is a YMCA of Southwestern Ontario requirement that all employees and volunteers be fully
permissible Human Rights Code ground.
