About Potash


The Jansen project in Saskatchewan, Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of Saskatoon.


BHP's CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability.

As the largest investment in Saskatchewan's history, Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5,500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.

Jansen's construction will take place over several years with first production planned for late 2026.

Once fully ramped up, Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages.

About the Roles

  • Applies an understanding of engineering, business, technologyrelated terminology, key processes, and activities.
  • Employs specific/relevant discipline expertise and leadership to meet BHP's technical expectations, i.e.
  • Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Mining/Geological, Electrical, Environmental, etc.)
  • Business (Accounting, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, etc.)
  • Technology (Software Development, Cybersecurity, System Programmer, Network Administrator, Infrastructure Architect, etc.)
  • Assesses change impacts to prepare integrated change management plans, manages change readiness and resistance, and upskills leaders and impacted stakeholders in the adoption and successful delivery of the change.
  • Determines the underlying cause of problems and evaluates multiple solutions to ensure a planned and structured approach to solving complex problems.
  • Identifies, engages, and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework, and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes. Sources information, plans and conducts analyses to support evidencebased decision making.

Work Locations
These positions are located at either our Saskatoon office and/or Jansen site. The work schedule for these positions is generally 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday). Hybrid working (flexible, shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
