Chem 2201: Introductory Analytical Chemistry 1 Lecture Assistant
Fall 2024

Responsibilities for this position include working with the course instructors in preparation and delivery of Chem 2201.

This will include preparation of course materials, preparation and marking of student assignments/quizzes/midterms/final examination, answering student enquiries, and providing in-person tutorials (2 or 3 times a week) and exam preparation tutorials (1 or 2 sessions before the in-person midterm and the final examination).

This position reports to the Dean of the Faculty of Science through the Chair of the Department of Chemistry. In addition, the position may occasionally be assigned tasks in other courses.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

The position requires a minimum of an MSc degree or two years of graduate studies in Chemistry, with a specialization in analytical or physical chemistry.

Experience providing teaching support for classroom or laboratory teaching at the university level is required, experience at providing teaching support for an undergraduate analytical chemistry class is preferred.

The preferred applicant must have proven experience in working independently (as well as with a group) and meeting workplace objectives and deadlines.
