Position Summary:


Responsibilities:


Application Review:


  • Determines applicant eligibility for admission and evaluates foreign and domestic academic credentials, standardized test results, language proficiency scores and documentation relating to residency/citizenship status.
  • Prepares applicant files for admission decisions, redirects applicants to other pathways, evaluates the credibility of documents, identifies fraudulent documents, and generates admissionsrelated correspondence.
  • Determines applicants' suitability for writing tests, ensures tuition fee due dates are maintained and fee schedules negotiated as necessary.
  • Interprets the data transmitted from (OCAS).
  • Monitors offers of admission, fees paid, outstanding offers and recommends changes to the program status (open, waitlisted & closed) to ensure targets will be met and not exceeded.

Front Line Services:


  • Clarifies and differentiates programs and career fields for similar programs, explains the policies and procedures of the College and of the Ministry Colleges and Universities (MCU).
  • Provides, at times, advisement related to fee payment options, including banktobank, and additional documentation that may be required.

Application Processing:


  • Monitors the applicant electronic files and other information to ensure evaluation is against the right set of requirements and that applicants are progressing toward an admission decision.
  • Processes fee payments submitted at the front counter, as well as refunds or transfer of funds for applicants who withdraw or transfer.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:


Education:


  • Minimum completed one (1) year certificate in office administration, general business, or a related field. If education is in a related field, please state how it is relevant.

Experience:


  • Minimum three (3) years of recent and relevant experience in a business office environment, preferably in postsecondary admissions, registration, or a related area.
  • Experience working in a highvolume, deadlinedriven, computerized customer service environment interpreting and explaining policies and procedures to clients and customers.

Skills:


  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to diffuse escalated situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, in order to interact effectively with the College's multicultural/racial/able staff, students, applicants, and the public.
  • Strong attention to detail including solid analytical and investigative skills.
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, database, word processing, CRM, spreadsheets).
  • Knowledge of college programs and structures of the Ontario secondary school system as well as knowledge of international credentials, credential evaluation, and detection of fraudulent documents would be an asset.

Note :
A skills assessment test will be administered during the recruitment process.


A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered as equivalent to the above requirements in the event that there are no internal applicants that meet the qualifications as posted.

Equivalency will be assessed by the talent acquisition team.
