Roles & Responsabilities:
Reporting to the Beekeeping Team Regional Manager, the Beekeeping Field Specialist North America West is accountable to the hive health and operational realities of their region.
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the calculating required amounts of nucs, queens, equipments and bee supplies for each city (teams responsible for ordering equipment)
- Responsible for the professional beekeeping development of Alvéole's Lead Beekeepers.
- Responsible for advocating for regions beekeeping realities in greater operations based meetings.
- Responsible for implementing beekeeping strategies in line with Alvéole's beekeeping standards and operational efficiency goals
- Responsible to the communication with local beekeeping community stakeholders and internal stakeholders
- Responsible for the tailoring of Ressources, training and SOPs to match regional climates and teams realities
- Attending all necessary meetings (including BTMC's NAE Town Halls, various city/ team assessments
- Available to inform department heads re: market realities in relationship to Beekeeping Operations (Purchasing, Extraction, Client Experience,)
- Responsible for evaluating the success of markets in tandem with the BTRM
- Responsible for the analysis + interpretation of Data specific to your beekeeping regions
To go more into details:
- Accountable to ensuring each city meets its Healthy Bees Targets (Above average survival rates, optimized honey yields and mínimal swarms)
- Accountable for the registration of each teams/cities hives.
- Accountable for approval of budgeting of treatment & feed, replacement of nucs, queen numbers
- Accountable to the approving climate appropriate hive equipment as laid out by Alveoles beekeeping standards
- Accountable to meeting with Lead Beekeepers on a regular basis (1 a cycle minimum)
- Supporting the development of management teams within cities with the BTRM
- Oversee the development of all beekeeping training programs within cities and ensure they are in line with Alveoles beekeeping standards.
- Inform city specific climate variables in the creation of training resources, Alveoles timelines Beekeeping training day notes, procedures and videos.
- Travel to cities as required to provide in person field support in relation to beekeeping operations, integrated pest management and aligning teams around Alvéole's best practices and beekeeping values
- Attending Weekly Strategic meetings with Beekeeping Operations Specialist (BOS)
- Accountable to the implementation and success of new services from a technical, operational angle.
- Supporting the BTRM in upholding the beekeeping objectives within the region
- Accountable to the harvest success of a market in relation to the Harvest
- Extraction process (ensuring proper timing, IPM management, shipping procedures for market needs)
- Accountable data integrity and accuracy for your beekeeping regions
Skills:
- Adept in beekeeping problem solving.
- Resultsdriven, goaloriented and autonomous.
- Resourceful with a demonstrated ability to anticipate change and proactively adjust priorities and strategies accordingly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable to train teams with different experience levels.
Requirements:
- Comfortable and able to travel
- Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
- Public speaking experience
- Customer service experience
- Comfortable with the reality of beekeeping hazards (stings, heavy lifting, inclement weather, etc.)
- Comfortable working at heights
- Commitment to learning the principles of beekeeping and urban greening within Alvéole's standard and operational efficiencies
- Comfortable with online communications, GSuite tools and CRM platform
