The Department of Pediatrics at CHEO, University of Ottawa is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist within the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

The Department of Pediatrics is affiliated with CHEO, the CHEO Research Institute and the University of Ottawa. Together, we provide outstanding patient care, leading research, and quality pediatric medical education.

The Department of Pediatrics provides health care to newborns, children and youth of the Ottawa area, as well as those from Eastern Ontario, Western Quebec, Nunavut and parts of Northern Ontario (population of approximately 1.8 million).

The Department of Pediatrics has 18 distinct divisions, which includes the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism.


The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is seeking a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor.

The successful applicant must be eligible to obtain a specialist's license to practice medicine in Ontario as well as Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada certification in Pediatrics and Endocrinology and Metabolism.

They must have additional specialized training in pediatric obesity and Type 2 diabetes management and have had a third year of training dedicated to scholarly activity within the field of pediatric endocrinology and obesity.

The successful applicant will be dedicated to providing excellent clinical care, participate in academic endeavors including quality improvement and/or clinical research, educational activities (i.e. academic rounds, fellow, resident and medical student teaching, research supervision) and contribute to administrative roles within the division and/or department.


The proposed position will include 3.5 clinics/week (obesity management, general endocrinology, Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes) and will share endocrinology inpatient service and call with 7 pediatric endocrinologists.

Remuneration will be discussed on an individual basis. This position will have an appointment to the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
