Position Description Summary


The Air Import Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of customers and serves as a point of contact for customer booking and liaison for operational matters.

The incumbent is responsible for providing a higher and consistent level of service quality across the board. They are responsible for effective planning, direction and coordination of the employees engaged operationally. They are also a strong leader, seasoned in Air
Operations knowledge with a complete understanding of industry best practices.


Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for day to day Operations in a streamlined manner to achieve a uniform level of quality service across all customers to meet agreed
KPIs

  • Create bookings, process shipments, coordinate with overseas offices, agents, airlines and carriers for successful end to end execution of Air shipments
  • Help develop work instructions for the team
  • Contribute to business development activities as required and requested.
  • Offer effective solutions to operational issues by using industry best practices.
  • Effectively analyze performance problems in order to resolve systemic issues.
  • Actively assist in Onboarding accounts, including the creation of accurate and effective onboarding documentation
  • Ensure SOP's and other customerrelated materials are in place; updated and correct
  • Participate in meetings, as required and requested
  • Other duties, as assigned. Although the duties and responsibilities listed in this job description represent the major responsibilities of the position, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned, as required

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in International Air Freight Forwarding years of experience
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Planned, organized and thorough approach to daytoday work. Ability to establish clear goals, measurements and is result oriented.
  • Interpersonal skills Strong sales and customer service skills, excellent negotiating skills with airlines, ground handlers and final mile delivery providers. Ability to interact with many different groups, both internal and external.


  • Good communicator

  • Ability to listen, understand and formulate clear propositions/positions; excellent oral and written communication skills.


  • Technical Applications

  • Competent in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)


  • Education

  • College Degree or Equivalent; Professional certification or other, preferred but not required
Product Specific Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of GDP/GMP Requirements
  • Experience with Cold chain, CRT and Ambient shipping procedures; including experience in arranging shipments with active/passive protection
  • Envirotainer, C-Safe, SoftBox, Va-Qtec.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace Supply Chain Requirements
  • Understanding the technical requirements of working within the Aerospace vertical; including knowledge of special needs regarding: Aircraft engine moves, aero parts fulfillment, handling of dangerous goods and the technical know
- how of highly demanding AOG moves.
