The Transload Supervisor will partner with the site Leadership to successfully lead and amange the transloading and rail services Savage provides at a reail terminal in Bruderheim, Alberta.

Responsibilities / Job Duties

  • Mentor and coach a workforce to be skilled in rail operation and transloading crude in manifest and unit train capacities
  • Lead in Safety by seeing an example, establishing consistent procedures, conducting training, praising safebehavior, correcting unsafe acts and bulding a cutlure of safety
  • Spend time in the operaiton, working alongside Team Members as they unload trucks, load railcars and perform other related activites
  • Planning and management of daytoday maintenance and process operations
  • Plan and manage daytoday activities of operations and maintenance personnel
  • Ensure all employee follow proper safety rules and operating procedures
  • Complete and file all necessary documentation as required including JHA's, permits, log entries, safety meetings, audit sheets, daily checksheets
  • Train and develop the tranloading and rail operations teams and provide Team Members opporutities for growth
  • Conduct and document frequent Safety and toolbox meetings
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required to maintain safe and efficient operations
Requirements/Qualifications

  • Proven ability to promote an empowered cutlure of safety where safety and environmental issues are held at a premium
  • An established servant leader with the ability to recruit, develop, mentor and buid a successful team and bench strengrh
  • Experience in bulk materials, conveyor systems and heavy equipment
  • Background in relationship management where timely and effective followup and fllow through with customers, employees and company was a key to success
  • Proven ability to focus on details, follow work rules and adhere to work schedules
  • Good written, oral and presentaiton skills eith an ability to communicate with coworkers, customers, and other company personnel
Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Proficient with standard office software programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Must be able to multitask and set priorities
  • Ability to manage confidential issues
Physical Requirements
Must have the ability to perform the essential physical functions of the position:

  • Work in an environment that has hazardous noise, confined space, and in hot or cold environments
  • Work at heights, climbing stairs, and climbing ladders
  • Work outside in inclement weather
  • Walk on uneven ground and up to 3 miles per shift
  • Must have ability to wear required PPE
  • Lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
