As the Category Manager of our Motorcycle category, you will develop and execute the strategic priorities focused on the healthy growth of this segment.
Cross-functional collaboration is key to achieving results, so interpersonal skills and the ability to gain alignment through communication will be critical to your success.
You are accountable for the understanding and analysis of your business with the ability to tactically address opportunities and issues.
Our vendor partners are essential to the growth of our business, you are expected to develop strong working relationships, through consistent and effective communication.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a product assortment in assigned categories to maximize sales and margin, with accountability to inventory health
- Conduct category line reviews, pricing audits, and product life cycle analysis.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors
- Conduct and oversee vendor contracts and agreements
- Work closely with inventory associates on maintaining product inventory
- Plan and assist with merchandising programs for retail environment.
- Collaborate with the marketing team on Omnichannel promotional programs.
- Expand our product catalogue by increasing current categories and investigating new offerings.
- Coach and provide feedback to direct reports with a focus on skill development and industry best practices.
- Become and industry expert, with strong category acumen.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or postsecondary education in business or equivalent experience
- Passion and understanding of powersports, specifically Motorcycle segment
- 4+ years in a category management focused role, purchasing and replenishment experience is considered an asset, but not required
- Previous experience working for an omnichannel retailer with a large eCommerce presence
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and coaching to team members
- Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Team Player with a strong ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- This role reports to the Director of Purchasing and Replenishment
- This is a fulltime opportunity operating Monday-Friday, with additional overtime hours in peak seasons
- This position may operate under flexible work hours and partial remote work arrangements following completion of the training period
