Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to create and implement strategic sourcing strategies, making decisions with consideration to supporting the functional strategies
Provide leadership and expertise in a variety of areas including category strategy support and development, RFX development and oversight, and vendor negotiations, consistently displaying strong drive, commitment to plan and to quality.
Run transparent sourcing events which will include facilitating bids, analysis and negotiations for goods and services
Drives contract development, negotiation, and execution with supplier partners
Create partnerships with other functional and business areas, collaborating with project teams to execute sourcing initiatives
Manage constructive and effective supplier relationships for assigned categories to ensure continuity of goods and services that meet the quality, service, and price performance standards of Maple Leaf Foods.
Deliver ongoing cost reduction projects in assigned categories
Seek to continuously develop Procurement and Supply Chain expertise to improve delivery of assigned category strategies and actively promoting the collection of knowledge and pursuit of best practices within the department
Develop a strong understanding and knowledge of suppliers and capabilities, taking action to identify, prioritize and implement opportunities that benefit service or cost to our internal and external customers.
Work collaboratively with stakeholders that increase spend visibility and compliance
Work closely with Finance teams to expedite receiving and AP processes
Actively solicits feedback from diverse perspectives and participates in engagement activities within team

What You'll Bring:

Postsecondary education, preferably in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
A strong track record of results demonstrated during 23 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing / Procurement, Manufacturing, or related discipline
Superior analytical skills able to draw insights and form recommendations
Engaged, collaborative team player within a diverse workforce
Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Well organized; able to balance multiple competing priorities
Experience working in an SAP environment is an asset
