Fundraising and Funding Officer


Responsible to:
Executive Director


Position Summary:

The main goal of the Fundraising and funding Officer is to develop the funding and fundraising process and functions.

Largely this position involves managing all the tiers of the funding processes to aid funding sustainability
:
Institutional -
from government agencies: Municipal/Regional Provincial and Federal.
Private Sector - from local corporations, businesses, and foundations.


Community - fundraising campaigns into the community - assist in the planning of Golf Tournaments, bake sales, dance performances, Walk-A-Thon, etc.

To assist the E.D. with the implementation of a Diversified Funding Strategy (Corporate sponsorship and Digital Strategy).


Responsibilities:
As the Fundraising and funding Officer at CACD you will be engaged in a variety of activities ranging from, but not limited to:

  • To identify target companies and community audiences who can support the organization.
  • To identify and recruit new supporters and develop relationships with existing supporters in the corporate and community arenas, adhering to service standards designed to ensure optimum supporter care.
  • To build relationships on a sustainable basis with volunteer fundraisers, both individuals and groups together with companies and business network groups and to respond effectively to all offers of fundraising support.
  • Research grantmaking organizations and analyze them to identify likely funding sources for specific projects and programs.
  • To develop and implement a plan that will maximize opportunities for fundraising with individual fundraisers and donors who have the potential to generate income for the organization.
  • To assist with a plan that will maximize opportunities for fundraising with businesses, community groups, clubs, societies, and other groupings who have the potential to generate income for the organization.
  • To work with and deliver clear objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Gather information about specific funding available and arrange meetings with fund managers to get a better understanding of the expectations of the grant.
  • Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of the organization and use that knowledge and understanding to better comprehend all projects and programs for which grants will be sought and to recommend the seeking of grants.
  • Manage the process of supplying progress reports when required by a grantmaking organization that has funded a project or program.
  • If requested, submit progress reports to any grantmaking organization that has funded a program
  • Work closely with the organization's event planner, fundraising committee, and marketing & outreach coordinator
  • The Fundraising and funding officer will work closely with the E.D.
on events planning activities, program outreach, update of statistical information on volunteers, program participants, and the various administrative duties as follows:


Qualifications:


  • Knowledgeable of the N-FP sector
  • Attention to detail is critical
  • Fully comprehends fundraising models
  • Requires sound planning and project management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines of multiple priorities
  • Marketing and/or communications experience required
  • Strong technical skills with Microsoft Office programs
  • Must have a strong focus on results and be driven by quality
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Post-Secondary Education
- years of experience in proposal writing


Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract


Salary:
$16.50-$25.00 per hour
