We currently have an opening at our Markham headquarters for a motivated Warehouse Manager to join our team.


As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for supervising and leading the warehouse team and the overall daily warehouse operations to support the Weidmuller organizational goals of on-time delivery, productivity, inventory, and sales growth.


Other key responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and prioritizing daily warehouse functions, workloads versus warehouse capacity, problem-solving, process improvement, special projects, employee training and development, and administrative duties.

You will also be required to work closely with other departments and align warehouse priorities to support the achievement of organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and leadership to the warehouse team members in daily operations, and act as the management liaison within the team.
  • Prioritize and organize daily warehouse functions and work assignments to ensure a high level of service to Weidmuller customers.
  • Continuously monitor the work capacity, efficiency, and staff availability while prioritizing company daily/monthly goals.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy ensuring that staff adheres to correct goods movement processes and establishing regular cycle counts.
  • Take a proactive approach and action(s) to handle fluctuations in workload versus staffing levels. Schedule overtime as needed.
  • Running and reconciliation of daily endofday reports.
  • Identify problems and develops longterm solutions proactively. Escalate problems/solutions to management as necessary.
  • Develop team members' skills by ensuring all functions are crosstrained.
  • Measuring and providing training/coaching to achieve a high level of team productivity, service, quality, and performance, both individually and as a team.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Continuously improve warehouse operations and work with other team leads to improve warehouse functions with the broader team (Inside Sales, MRP, Finance, etc.)
  • Responsible for ensuring warehouse housekeeping, cleanliness, and orderliness.
  • Support overall Weidmuller organizational and management goals and objectives.
  • Provide ongoing communication with the team and maintain an opendoor communication policy with team members.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders to ensure smooth service and cost optimization.
  • Ensure appropriate stock of warehouse supplies and packing materials.
  • Maintain warehouserelevant master data in SAP.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Lead special projects as required.
  • Ensure thorough knowledge and actively maintain all Environmental, Health, Quality, Safety, and Security Policies. Perform duties in accordance with those policies, including Provincial/Federal laws and ISO 9001:2008, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned by Managing Director.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of warehouse/distribution experience.
  • Lead or Manager experience.
  • Working experience with SAP is an asset.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills are written and verbal (French is an asset).
  • Experience with Order Fulfillment Cycles, Supply Chain, Logistics, Distribution, and Customer Service.
  • Welldeveloped analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Exemplary organizational skills with an ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with deadlines and adaptability to changing priorities.
  • A selfstarter with a demonstrated ability to work both in a team environment and independently.
  • Detailoriented, keen to learn, motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Fluent in English (read, written, speak), comfortable communicating across functions and with different levels.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and supportive of a continuously changing environment.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand/walk/lift for extended periods while working.
  • Constant hand, finger, arm, and leg use.
  • Ability to hear clearly and speak intelligibly.
  • Exposures encountered, loud noise, heat/cold, demanding clients, and high stress.
  • Physical effort/lifting, light up to 25 pounds.
