DUTIES & RESEPONSIBILITIES
- Receives food and supplies for Patient Food Services, and the Marketeria at the loading dock location.
- Puts away deliveries throughout the day. Cross checks delivery invoices with purchase requisitions, informs purchaser of shortages or errors.
- Monthly & daily inventory of food and supplies. Enters inventory into CBORD inventory management computer system.
- Prepares orders requisitioned by internal and external clients. Delivers supplies to some internal & external clients. Creates Issue Requisitions based on what supplies provided to internal and external clients in CBORD inventory system.
- Reconciles invoices with purchase requisitions.
- Prepares order for purchaser.
- Weighs out ingredients for recipes. Prepares bulk supplies for nursing units and clinics.
- Organizes food to be tempered for patients and clients.
- Cleans and maintains sanitation levels of food storeroom and fridges.
- Follows Public health Directives
- Daily temperature audits of equipment.
- Ensure that the correct safety practices/procedures are followed when delivery vehicles are in the driveway at the loading dock.
- Proficient in the operation of an industrial electric pallet truck, dock lifter, scissor lift equipment and freight elevator.
- Ensure that equipment is functioning properly by troubleshooting to correct problems.
- Demonstrate safe handling practices for food and food to satellite areas.
- Understanding and follow health & safety, and standard operating procedures/policies
- Wear uniform and safety shoes.
- Provides exceptional customer service and demonstrates a professional manner in the work setting.
- OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have current Food Handler's Certificate
- Certificate in the operation of electric pallet truck, freight elevator, and other equipment lifting equipment is preferred.
- Must be computer literate.
- Ability to comply with storekeeping and inventory procedures including FIFO methods.
- Must be able to read, speak and understand English.
- Must be physically able to perform duties including ability to work up to 2 hours and push or pull a cart weighing 50100kg;
- Ability to lift up to 25kg
- Must be able to work with gloves, protective shoes, and other appropriate personal protective equipment
- Must be able to work in cold conditions such as fridges and freezers (at 20oC)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
- Must be able to work cooperatively with other hospital workers.
- Must be punctual and have excellent attendance record.
Must be available weekdays and weekends as needed and must be able to work the following shifts: 5am-1pm; 6am-2pm; 7am-3pm.
