Description

Summary
Various duties within an asphalt plant to ensure operations run safely and efficiently.

Maintains excellent housekeeping around the plant by shovelling, sweeping, performs repairs as needed to plant equipment and performs preventative maintenance to keep the plant running.

Assists Plant Foreman with daily operations and upkeep of the plant.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

Experience and certification in operating a Skid Steer is considered a major asset.
Must be able to perform heavy manual labourer under adverse weather conditions.
Should be familiar with the materials, tools, and machinery used.
Should have some experience as a general construction labourer.
Should have some knowledge of the road construction industry.
Must be able to meet all safety requirements and applicable safety policies.
Must be willing to work overtime as required.

Experience/Education:

Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Must have reliable transportation to drive between various worksites.

Working Conditions:

Overtime as required (evenings and weekends).
Travel may be required for training.
Ability to attend and participate in daily hazard assessments/weekly safety meetings.
Considerable amount of time spent outdoors in all weather conditions.
Work collaboratively with fellow employees and contractors as required.
Must be willing and able to work at heights of up to 80 feet.
Must be physically fit, with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must wear appropriate PPE as directed by company policy and OH&S regulations.
Must be able to meet all preemployment safety requirements, including Occupational Health Assessment and Drug & Alcohol testing.
Must be able to meet the requirements for Mask/Respirator Fit Testing.
