  • What you'll be doing
  • As a member of the Personal and Business Banking team, you'll work in a fastpaced Banking Centre where you'll have a meaningful difference on the lives of our clients. As an Associate Financial Advisor / Associate Financial Services Specialist, you'll form a deep understanding of your personal and small business clients' needs as you recommend simple, personalized solutions that will help them achieve their financial goals. You'll manage, either individually or as part of a team, a portfolio of mortgage clients where the focus is on deepening the client relationship. You're flexible to work our banking centre hours which may include evenings and weekends. To help deliver a great client experience, you're flexible to work at multiple banking centres within a reasonable travel distance.

  • How the Program Works


The Financial Advice Campus Development Program will develop advisor capability to build financial plans for new and existing clients to achieve their financial goals.

The associate financial advisor will be supported in their learning journey by dedicated Associate Financial Advisors, Community General Managers, and Specialists.

There will be three learning components to the first year in role:

  • This program will include a supported accreditation journey towards MFDA along with additional education to help you learn the CIBC systems and lending processes.-
  • Upon completion of this program you will be placed on a portfolio.

  • You must be a recent graduate (2022 or 2023) or in your final year of post-secondary education pursuing a diploma/degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related fields with an expected graduation date of Spring 2024.

Work location:
Job location may change due to business need and travel may be required. Due to the nature of the role, you are expected to remain a minimum of 12 months in the role before you may be eligible for other job opportunities within the organization. Start Date: June 2024- How you'll succeed- Client Engagement - Meet with clients to understand their personal and business priorities, advise them on solutions, and provide a forward-looking financial plan. Ensure clients' investment, financial and credit related needs are met by providing a comprehensive retail banking offer or by making a formal introduction to the appropriate Imperial Service and Business Banking colleagues. Relationship Building - Engage in marketing and outreach activities to show clients you value them and their communities. Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and work as one team to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities. Business Development - Create relationships by networking with clients' families and friends to uncover opportunities and refer to appropriate partners. Call both existing and potential clients to identify opportunities for future growth and revenue.
