Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Grinder / general labour to join our team. As a Grinder, you will be responsible for operating various grinding machines to shape and smooth metal workpieces. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.

Responsibilities:

Set up and operate grinding machines to grind, polish, or sharpen metal workpieces
Read and interpret blueprints or job orders to determine grinding specifications
Select and mount grinding wheels on machines according to specifications
Adjust machine controls to regulate factors such as speed, coolant flow, and depth of cut
Inspect workpieces for defects or deviations from specifications using precision measuring instruments
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues or malfunctions
Perform routine maintenance on grinding machines, such as cleaning or replacing worn parts
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Grinder or in a similar role preferred
Proficient in operating grinding machines and related tools
Familiarity with quality inspection processes and procedures
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions accurately
Experience with other machining processes such as milling, lathe, CNC, press brake machine, or laser cutting is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects

Salary:
$17.00-$25.00 per hour
