Job Description


Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Credit Representative is responsible for credit/collections for a portfolio of clients across several branches across the region.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Make collection calls and follow up regularly to ensure prompt payment received by customers
  • Perform regular financial reviews to assess risk
  • Setting up new accounts in system
  • Temporarily suspend credit privileges as necessary
  • Complete comprehensive credit inquiries
  • Liaise with branch managers to update on receivables and ensure disputes get addressed in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain teamwork both internally and externally
  • Other duties as assigned by the Credit Manager

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position dealing with high volume business to business collections in a fastpaced environment
  • Degree in finance, accounting and administration or other relevant education is preferred
  • Must have experience reading and analyzing Equifax, Dun and Bradstreet reports for risk assessment/credit granting
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook (MS Office)
  • Excellent Communication skills both spoken and written
  • Professional and courteous phone manner
  • Motivated and resultsoriented
  • Must be able work independently
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and make decisions in a timely manner
  • Credit experience in the construction industry is an asset
  • Must have exemplary multitasking and time management skills
