Job Description
Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Credit Representative is responsible for credit/collections for a portfolio of clients across several branches across the region.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make collection calls and follow up regularly to ensure prompt payment received by customers
- Perform regular financial reviews to assess risk
- Setting up new accounts in system
- Temporarily suspend credit privileges as necessary
- Complete comprehensive credit inquiries
- Liaise with branch managers to update on receivables and ensure disputes get addressed in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain teamwork both internally and externally
- Other duties as assigned by the Credit Manager
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar position dealing with high volume business to business collections in a fastpaced environment
- Degree in finance, accounting and administration or other relevant education is preferred
- Must have experience reading and analyzing Equifax, Dun and Bradstreet reports for risk assessment/credit granting
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook (MS Office)
- Excellent Communication skills both spoken and written
- Professional and courteous phone manner
- Motivated and resultsoriented
- Must be able work independently
- Ability to resolve conflicts and make decisions in a timely manner
- Credit experience in the construction industry is an asset
- Must have exemplary multitasking and time management skills
