CBC Saskatchewan is looking for a journalistic leader who wants to tell important stories and develop a strong team of storytellers, based in either Regina or Saskatoon.

This is an unparalleled opportunity to be involved in journalism that has a strong impact in our region.

It is a challenging role that provides leadership to a team that works hard to serve our audiences across the province.

This is a permanent, full time position.

Your role


As an Assignment Producer, your primary focus is to plan, conceive, organize, and develop news programming for video, digital and audio platforms at CBC Saskatchewan.

You lead a team of journalists in providing our daily news content. You are responsible for ensuring that work adheres to CBC journalistic standards and practices. You play a key role in the development and mentoring of new journalists.

You ensure our stories are fair, balanced, accurate, thoughtful, immediate and resonate with the communities we serve. You're innovative and will champion new story treatments and new workflows. You are keen to help create a diverse range of content on our radio, television, digital and social platforms. You're not afraid to take creative risks, and you inspire others to do the same.


You understand the diverse and changing population across our region and the importance of reflecting all our communities in our content.

You understand the cultural, social, and public policy ecosystems of the province.


You live and promote an inclusive and respectful work culture.- University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.- Five years of relevant experience.- A strong knowledge of video, digital and audio storytelling.- Demonstrated editorial judgment in breaking news and enterprise journalism.- Knowledge of, and interest in, the culture and politics of Saskatchewan.- Ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Proven leadership, mentoring and coaching abilities.- Ability to establish and maintain excellent interpersonal relationships.- Ability to motivate a team towards journalistic excellence.
