Manufacturing Supervisor
Reports to:
Manufacturing Manager
Location: 9 Napoleon Road, Barrie, Ontario
Hours:
Day Shift - 7a.m. to 3:30p.m.
Job Purpose:
- Achieve results through the action of others by supervising and coordinating the activities of Associates who are involved in the production within their departments
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Execute the production plan through effective use of Associates and equipment
- Develop and implement improvement plans for safety (JHSC Inspection Report) quality and productivity (recommend labour needs)
- Promotes and maintains 5S methodology and ISO9001 procedures
- Communicate, support and implement the policies and procedures of the Company through effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Prepare reports as required to meet the Company's and the legal standards
- Ensure compliance of all Company policies and procedures, ISO and all Government legislation including the Human Rights Code, OHSA and ESA.
- Hold weekly meetings to discuss actual to planned production. Set attainable goals for each area/department and challenge Associates to meet or better the goals
- Complete performance reviews as required
- Issue Team Leaders the daily morning meeting minutes for discussion with their areas of responsibility
- Mentor and Coach TL's and Associates
- Develop and Maintain training matrices
- Supports Company vision and business plan
- Monitor and administer coaching to enforce Company policies and procedures
Education and Experience:
- Must have a High School Diploma; College or University Degree is preferred
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a Supervisory role obtained in a production/manufacturing environment, steel fabrication experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word and Outlook, as well as Visual Manufacturing or another type of ERP/MRP system.
- Must have a good understanding of manufacturing principles
- Prior support in an internal Safety Committee (JHSC) is
- Strong working knowledge and compliance with employment legislation including; ESA, OHSA, Human Rights, etc.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to coach, facilitate, solve work related issues and participate in the work of the team
- Lean manufacturing knowledge is paramount
