The Environment and Climate department is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of a Financial Officer with the financial Services Branch, with the Government of Manitoba in Winnipeg.

Qualifications:

Essential:


  • Post secondary education in financial management or accounting. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in financial management including preparation and maintenance of cash flows
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Experience with financial reporting including the ability to analyze, interpret and problem solve
  • Experience interpreting financial and administration policies, procedures and regulations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and within a team environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Experience working with QuickBooks or similar computer systems related to accounting

Duties:


Reporting to the Manager of Accounting Services, this position is responsible for central financial analysis, reporting requirements and coordinating work flow patterns of indirect staff within the accounts payable and receivable sections in Financial Services.

The incumbent tracks all revenue and expenses, provides comprehensive and complex revenue financial analyse and reporting of transactions through provincial wide e-commerce sites, banking reconciliation, daily sales in SAP, refunds, and coordinating and supporting the completion of defined tasks with section staff that includes staff training on financial systems, and providing information to branch staff to meet program requiremets.
