Job Description:


Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office, the Project Management Lead role is a key member of the Project Management Office (PMO) and is responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, integration and delivery of IT projects for all areas of the College.


The incumbent participates in the effort of defining the IT strategic direction for project management tools to ensure the process requirements of project management are followed.

The incumbent will manage projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence to ensure the integrity of the project are measurable.

The incumbent is responsible to develop, promote and provide project management expertise (processes, templates and tools) to the College via the projects they are assigned.


The incumbent is responsible to manage large, complex IT projects and is capable of managing expectations and stakeholder interests that span several areas of the College.

The incumbent is responsible to deliver the IT requirements and manage all related project work and dependencies.


The incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing and managing the Project Management process, which includes scope management, schedule management, cost management, risk management, resource management, communications management, quality management, procurement management for assigned projects.

The projects can be inclusive of new development, enhancements, operating system patches, security improvements, hardware upgrades, new Server Farms, new SAAS based solutions, etc.

The incumbent will develop and deploy tools, services and processes to help delivery managers and project teams manage and successfully deploy projects for the College.


The incumbent is responsible for implementing and managing project processes for the progression of code in the development, staging and production environments.

The incumbent works collaboratively with all participants and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their development/staging environments.

The incumbent also works with ITS delivery managers to improve the software development processes and practices associated with continuously building, deploying, and updating software and environments.

The incumbent, management, ITS and client staff delivers on the IT scope for the project. The incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, controlling and reporting on all IT projects assigned. The incumbent is accountable to deliver the identified project requirements aligned with the project schedule and within budget. The incumbent is responsible for validating project requirements and for managing the project work as a matrixed reporting structure.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) year Diploma/Degree or equivalent in Computer Technology, Information Technology or related discipline;
  • PMP Certification;
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in Information Systems operations environment in Systems Analysis or Development, plus two (2) years of previous project management experience;
  • At least eight (8) years of Information Technology experience, with the majority of experience in the domain of delivering infrastructure/development related technology projects;
  • Of the eight (8) years' experience, a minimum of three (3) years' experience is required leading project teams and managing deliverables in a matrixed environment;
  • Project management experience is required with a strong record of delivering quality project outcomes within the defined scope, time and cost parameters.
