Individual accountabilities

_Execute Own Brands product development strategy_

Owns the sensory and development of all Own Brands products and supporting processes from ideation to implementation and post launch evaluation in assigned categories;
Executes the development of compelling, high impact OB products that guarantee high regional support, high brand recognition, and high sustained customer loyalty;
Responsible for leveraging customer insights, industry trends and market research to identify Own Brand opportunities;
Brings and receives innovations to/from Category Manager via planning and review sessions;
Ensures on time and on strategy delivery of Own Brands products to the business, influencing speed to market where possible;
Collaborate with Category Management teams to determine ongoing Own Brands needs assessments that align to category specific strategies, roles and tactics;
Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure all products are delivered with pace and on strategy team includes Quality Assurance, Brand Management, Regulatory, Design and Category Merchants;
Ensure all products meet brand standards;
Reviews all packaging and artwork from Product Development perspective;
Responsible for the continuous improvement of existing portfolio of Own Brands products as required;
Support vendor sourcing and provide recommendations;

Key support accountabilities

Work with Brand Management, Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Design, Marketing and Category Merchants to ensure that all products developed for Own Brands products align to brand standards;
Accountable for the sensory of all Own Brand products.

Job Requirements:

An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant product development experience;
Food Science degree and/or Culinary certificate an asset;
Understanding Food Safety parameters & CFIA standards of identity an asset;
Understanding and working with ingredient specifications & understanding certifications an asset;
Ability to travel, must have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle;
Previous Project Management experience;
Food Manufacturing Experience & knowledge of food trends an asset;
Able to be results driven and action oriented;
Ability to drive product innovation and development;
Able to build relationships with key external partners;
Ability to collaborate with and influence many stakeholders;
Ability to meet project timelines and influence speed to market.
