Recreational Program Assistant

Contract - Canada Summer Job

This positions reports to:
Program Manager (Active Daily Living)

  • Proficient in the use of computers, including the Microsoft Office suite
  • Currently enrolled in a degree or diploma in related field of Health & Wellness, Gerontology or Social Services
  • Previous administrative and event planning experience
  • Current First Aid & C.P.R. certification is asset
  • Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector Screening within one month of employment.
  • Assist data entry on a daily basis, statistical tracking, and monitoring for Senior Active Living Centers at Overland and Deauville and Exercise and Falls Prevention
  • Track and balance finances daily as required Front Desk Support
  • Provide members and clients with information about the Better Living Health and Community Services
  • Assist Program Coordinators within the Active Living Programs and Exercise and Falls Prevention including planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Act* and;
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

SALARY:
*$17.55 / hour

This position is funded for 35 hours in total. Hours of work and duration of position will be determined based on the needs of the department
