A Teaching Assistant is a McGill Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment.

Total Hours of Work per Term: 45 per term (90 total for F24/W25)


Position Summary:
This requisition is for one position, at 45 hours per term, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Effective dates of appointment are August 28 to December 11, 2024 and January 6 to April 18, 2025. Course dates are August 28 to December 4, 2024 and January 6 to April 11, 202- Posting Dates (15 Open Days): May 2- June 14, :00AM)

Responsibilities may include:

  • Marking
  • Preparing Class Materials
  • Leading Discussion Groups
  • Assisting Students' learning (i.e., giving feedback and being available to answer questions)
  • Attending classes, particularly the final poster session, is required (Mondays from 6:05PM to 8:55PM)

Qualifications:

  • MA or PhD student with advanced writing skills
  • Exerience using myCourses for coruse management
  • Experience writing a thesis and/or publishing an article is an asset
  • Knowledge in French may be required
  • McGill University is an Englishlanguage university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English Language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing._
