About the Role


As the Marketing Manager of Events, you will focus on the marketing execution of some of Canada's largest fundraisers including; The Starlight Journey to Conquer, The Princess Margaret Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer, and Quest to Conquer - as well as marketing for select other Peer to Peer and community fundraising events.

You will play a critical role in enabling The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation to achieve awareness, participation and fundraising goals of our events.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execution of marketing plans across a portfolio of events
  • Support the Marketing Director, Events, in the planning and execution of all paid, earned and owned media
  • Working with Business Intelligence team on reporting and review of analysis to make data driven decisions
  • Support the development, maintenance and reporting of Events websites
  • Develop, deploy and report on social content across all major social platforms, and for select events, work closely with the Community Manager who will also handle community management for select events
  • Support the needs of influencer engagement
  • Lead development of and maintain integrated weekly communications calendar, status reports and workback schedules for each brand.
  • Work closely with agency partners to ensure projects are kept ontrack, ontime and onbudget
  • Provide marketing support, where needed, at our Events; can require evening and weekend work, and occasional local travel

Education/Experience:

  • A postsecondary degree or diploma in marketing or advertising preferred
  • 46 years of experience working on large national brands requiring complex project management
  • Experience analyzing marketing data to inform plan development. I.e., knowing what questions to ask and how to find the answers.
  • Highly skilled at project management including the development and detailed oversight of workback schedules, management of integrated status reports, budget tracking, etc.
  • Agency or clientside B2C marketing experience, with demonstrated client service experience
  • Experience in nonprofit peertopeer fundraising a definite asset.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work some evenings and weekends to support the events when required

  • Proactive selfstarter who works collaboratively but is also comfortable initiating projects and working autonomously
  • A superior communicator, comfortable driving agenda and meetings.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship and strong collaboration skills with all key stakeholders which include staff, members, donors and volunteers
  • Ability to multitask within a dynamic team environment
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels of the organization
