What you'll do
- Support crossfunctional forecasting and budgeting processes, including forecasts for the three statements and presentation materials for executive audiences
- Coordinate monthly variance analysis processes, ensuring high quality and consistent analysis with commentary that addresses key issues and drivers
- Partner with business groups to understand drivers and assumptions to improve forecasting accuracy as well as identify risks, opportunities, and potential actions
- Work closely with the Manager, finance colleagues and business partners to prepare modelling and other ad hoc analyses to drive initiatives, monitor trends, and identify exceptions and to support the budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes
- Perform sensitivity and scenario analysis to determine impact of changes to underlying assumptions to the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cashflows
- Identify and implement ways to improve the quality and efficiency of finance processes
- Prepare periodic and ad hoc reports as required
- Foster strong working relationships across the businesses and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner

- University degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Must have completed or be working towards an accounting designation (CPA)
- 12 years experience in a finance, accounting, or analysis orientated role is required
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across levels and functions
- Ability to work well in a team environment or independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and personal integrity
- Ability to learn new software. Experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion or Essbase is an asset
- Experience in homebuilder/land development environment not required but is an asset
- Advanced Excel skills and intermediate to advanced PowerPoint skills required
- Strong analytical, accounting, and organizational skills
