    WORK HOURS:
    40 hrs per week - Monday to Friday - Day hours - Occasional evening and weekend work required

    COMPENSATION:
    Annual salary starting at $90,914 - $100,335 plus benefits listed in the posting

    ABOUT INTERIOR COMMUNITY SERVICES (ICS)

    Interior Community Services (ICS) is a non-profit, accredited, multi-service agency providing a wide range of supported programming to people of diverse demographics, including children, youth and families, seniors, and people with various support needs.

    Services of ICS include affordable housing, integrated family support, youth support, individual life skills development, and safe, nurturing home environments designed to assist people to live to their potential in the community.

    In April 2013, ICS opened an office in the City of Merritt, providing both Family and Community Living services and programs.


    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    Your extensive experience in non-profit management, including community engagement, outcomes management, fund development, quality assurance, and administration is what we are looking for.

    ICS is looking for a dedicated individual to join the Merritt team as Director of Operations and Community Development.

    As the Director of Operations & Community Development, you will have a chance to have a positive impact on the residents of Merritt, BC, by leading a vital role in a well-established community service organization.


    RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
    • Be part of the Leadership Team to develop strategic plans and oversee operational planning for ICS Merritt Programs
    • Lead and manage the Family Support and Community Living Support Program Coordinators and staff in Merritt
    • Ensure service excellence and accountability through feedback mechanisms and action plan implementation
    • Promote team cohesion by fostering open communication and positive relationships
    • Manage the recruitment process for the Merritt programs and office in cooperation with HR
    • Provide direct supervision to Program Coordinators, offering mentorship, coaching, evaluations, and building high-performance teams
    • Address performance issues, oversee disciplinary actions and resolve labor relations problems in partnership with HR
    • Ensure program quality, compliance with contracts, accreditations, licensing, and agency reporting standards
    • Manage financial resources and contribute to annual budget development for each program under your oversight
    • Guarantee adherence to all legislative and licensing requirements and Agency Policies and Procedures, including CARF standards for Programs
    • Act as a representative for the agency with the community, professional bodies, and funders
    • Prepare proposals, reports, and oversee administrative tasks
    • Manage program facilities as necessary to uphold agency and funder criteria

    EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
    • Bachelor's Degree in the Social/Human Service field
    • Minimum of 3 years of non-profit leadership experience with project and people management skills
    • Alternatively, a combination of education, training, and experience that meet the requirements
    • Proficiency in program development and outcomes management
    • Knowledge in community engagement and familiarity with the City of Merritt community

    SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:
    • Exceptional leadership capabilities to coach, manage, and develop high-performance teams
    • Ability to align organizational vision, mission, and objectives with day-to-day operations and agency culture
    • Advocate for a trauma-informed and person-centered approach
    • Independent work ethic, reliability, and self-motivation
    • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
    • Capacity to work under pressure while effectively prioritizing tasks
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills
    • Ability to engage well with families, colleagues, and professionals
    • Uphold professional standards and confidentiality
    • Proficient in representing the organization ethically and professionally, building strong partnerships
    • Knowledge of community-based programs, funding sources, and community relationships
    • Experience in financial management, administration, and control
    • In-depth understanding of program development, outcomes management, and service delivery models
    • Successful history with accreditation processes
    • Proficiency in technology, especially Microsoft 365 programs, and willingness to learn additional tools as necessary

    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • BC Class 5 DL or equivalent with Clean Driving Record
    • Personal vehicle with $5 Million Business Use insurance (reimbursement available)
    • Regular travel within Merritt and occasional visits to Kamloops
    • Consent to Criminal Record Checks - RCMP and BC Vulnerable Sector Search (Reimbursement provided upon hiring)
