SUMMARY:

The Project Manager will effectively manage the activities of Language Assessment Training and Support (LATS), working with the funders, senior leaders, project staff, and partners to provide centralized communication within the sector and ensure successful delivery of assessor training and certification, CLBPA implementation, pilot testing, online meetings, events, and information/resource services.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee successful completion of contract objectives, ensuring that project tasks are delivered on time and within budget
  • Develop, maintain and track a detailed project plan
  • Supervise project coordinator, trainers, and administrative staff members
  • Facilitate team meetings, performance reviews and development of staff
  • Oversee recruitment of staff (regular and casual) as needed
  • Manage budgets, monitor expenses, review claims, and resolve financial issues through liaison with senior management, finance/accounting staff, and funders
  • Identify needs, implement project improvements, develop amendments and modify budgets as needed
  • Liaise with funders and service providers to address language assessment issues
  • Coordinate assessment training and related activities as approved by funders (certification, refresher, recalibration, additional support)
  • Plan and facilitate LAC Administrators' meetings and assessor online workshops
  • Procure subcontracted services and manage resources
  • Coordinate and update LATS information and resource services (including resource materials, LATS website, database)
  • Ensure that venue/travel arrangements are made for all training / events
  • Review and authorize program expenses in accordance with company policy and funding guidelines
  • Prepare comprehensive narrative reports, yearend reports, and meeting notes as needed
  • Supervise the revision of assessor training materials and review trainee assessment reports as needed
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • 2 years of experience in the language assessment/ language training field and understanding of assessor issues and needs
  • Prior project management or training coordination experience preferred
  • TESL accreditation
  • Relevant postsecondary education and/or equivalent experience
  • Experience dealing with subcontracted services preferred
  • Knowledge of technology platforms and online learning
  • Demonstrated leadership, time management, and organization skills
  • A high degree of English language proficiency, both oral and written
  • Ability to liaise effectively with government and service providers
  • Proven skills in diplomacy and community liaison
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Office, video conferencing, internet research, Azure DevOps
  • High level of flexibility and adaptability
  • Able to travel occasionally across Ontario
