ORGANIZATION:

The BC-CfE is a world-renowned HIV/AIDS Centre with innovative, low barrier approach to healthcare delivery in clinical practice and an integrated group of research concentrations in Laboratory Sciences, Clinical Trials, Population Health and Epidemiology, Health Economics and Professional Education Programs.

A multidisciplinary team of clinicians including Physicians, Nurses, Social Workers and Peers and researchers including Health Economists, Epidemiologists, Clinical Researchers, Statisticians, Programmers, and Data Analysts work collaboratively to improve the health of British Columbians with HIV and communities facing socio-economic barriers in accessing healthcare through the development, ongoing monitoring and dissemination of comprehensive research and treatment programs for HIV and related diseases.


ROLE:

As the Research & Innovation Business Analyst at the BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS, you will play a crucial role in advancing healthcare innovation and improving patient outcomes through the effective utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) data.

Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, you will analyze EMR data, identify business opportunities, and provide insights to drive innovation in healthcare delivery.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • EMR Data Analysis and Insights:
Conduct thorough analysis of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for innovation.
Extract meaningful insights from EMR data to inform decision-making processes and drive improvements in healthcare delivery.

  • Business Process Optimization:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
Develop strategies to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency in healthcare operations leveraging EMR capabilities.

  • Innovation and Solution Development:
Identify areas where EMR data can be leveraged to drive innovation in healthcare practices and patient care.

  • Project Management:
Lead and support research and innovation projects related to EMR data analysis and utilization.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, coordinating efforts across interdisciplinary teams.


ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Health Informatics) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in business
  • Demonstrated experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and analyzing healthcare data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Experience in project management and coordinating interdisciplinary teams is preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with EMR systems and healthcare databases.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python) is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problemsolving abilities with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Salary:
$65,884.00-$90,590.00 per year
