Quality Assurance Plastic Technician. This position is straight days Monday to Friday and reports directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor/ Lead.


This position is responsible for ensuring that the plastics production in Feversham plant conforms to Quality guidelines as designated by the corporate Quality/Sanitation department.

Ensures all Quality procedures for finished product and raw materials are followed by all plant personnel. Issue corrective actions if required. Assist with Sanitation as required and assigned.

Key Activities/Responsibilities:


  • Testing as required for raw materials and finished product from Resin Production including but not limited to tests for colour and IV for flake and resin on receipt, tests for colour and IV for finished product resin production.
  • Testing as required for raw materials and finished product from Injection Molding included but not limited to visual quality on preform production on all injection molding machines running.
  • Testing as required on raw materials and finished product from the Sheet Line.
  • Complete portions of the various regular Plant Inspections in the Plastics areas as assigned.
  • Train machine operators on Quality standards and applicable procedures, ensure enforcement of procedures and policies.
  • Organize and attend all plant meetings. Record meeting notes. Prepare corrective action reports. Ensure all Quality and Sanitation records regarding plastics are up to date and filed correctly.
  • The QA Plastics Technician is responsible for assisting the QA Bottling Technicians to cover for any time off required by the QA Bottling Team. Therefore, the QA Plastics Technician will be required to be trained and fully functional in all aspects of the QA Bottling Technician. Required Competencies:


  • 6 months Previous Quality/Sanitation experience in a food processing atmosphere. Working knowledge of office automation tools including Excel, Word, Power Point as well as computerized equipment to perform QA analysis. Comfortable learning new software suites.
  • Enjoys working hard, is action oriented, can be counted on to deliver results, bottom line focussed. Will persevere to get though road blocks to solve a problem. Makes sound decisions based on fact, wisdom, experience and judgement.
  • Not happy with status quo and is continuously looking for ways to improve process, and quality of results. Use tools, supplies and methods to creatively think out side the box to solve a problem. Shows a willingness to learn and grow.
