Position purpose:


Reporting to the Director, Recruitment and Admissions, the Prospective Student Services Coordinator (PSC) is responsible for providing operational leadership to the team of student ambassadors and a prospective student advisor.

In collaboration with other faculties and services throughout the university, the PSC is responsible leading events and projects related to prospective students, educators and parents in order to attract new members to the university.

The PSC ensures an effective communication and administrative support system is in place for the liaison office (quality control) and analyses the key performance indicators related to its activities to continually improve on the services delivered.


In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Responsible for the human resources processes (hiring, training, onboarding, management and evaluation) for Student Ambassadors and Prospective Student Advisor


Collaborate with the Student Affairs Communications team to plan and implement the Social Media strategy, including content generation and inquiries.

These include Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit and other evolving and relevant social media platforms used by 16-22-year-olds.


What you will bring:

Undergraduate degree in a related field, or a combination of relevant work experience and education

At least 1 year of experience in a managerial or supervisory role, including experience in human resources management and training

Knowledge of marketing, public relations and/or communications principles and concepts

Experience in maintaining effective relationships with educational staff, parents, students, and other university sectors;
Knowledge of the Canadian secondary and post-secondary education systems as it pertains to 16-22-year olds and the work force;
Extensive knowledge of the University of Ottawa, its programs, services and administrative procedures;
Experience in client services as a resource person. Ability to understand and regularly keep up-to-date with a vast amount of detailed knowledge, and to deal with a diversified clientele;
Excellent judgement and initiative with superior problem-solving skills;
Good interpersonal and communication skills, tact and diplomacy;
Strong analytical and critical thinking and decision-making skills;
Ability to work under pressure in a team environment using positive interpersonal relationship skills;
Strong organizational and time-management skills;
Intermediate level of competency with the Microsoft Office 365 Suite including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive and the ability to keep up with and adapt to changing technology;

Experience working with a Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM), such as Talisma, and with a student information system (such as Peoplesoft) is an asset.

Ability and willingness to occasionally work outside of regular business hours and/or on weekends.

Bilingualism (spoken and written) in French and English
