The Opportunity*The Controller will be responsible to help transform the Finance department from supporting a single-entity, owner-managed Canadian company to a growing, private-equity backed, multi-entity, international company.
Longer-term opportunities will be potential future mergers and acquisitions work and growing the Finance team, both in Canada and abroad.
The Role*- Monthly global financial statements, including consolidation of multiple entities in different countries and currencies- Monthly reporting, including:
- KPIs
- Cash flow and cash projections
- Financial and covenant reporting to debt provider
- Annual budget and forecasts throughout the year, including whatif scenario planning
- Monthly review of internal and external project financials and variances to project budgets
- Monthly and Quarterly Board reporting
- Inter company invoicing and management of transfer pricing agreements
- Ensure proper implementation of and adherence to financial controls
- Maintenance of monthly revenue recognition schedule
- Supervision of external bookkeeping firm and internal staff:
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Accounts payable cycle
- Customer invoicing and collections
- Coordination of annual audit under Canadian ASPE
- Coordination of annual tax returns
- Acquisition due diligence activities as required
- Work with colleagues in other jurisdictions as required
- Overview of NetSuite implementation
- 6+ years in (role related experience)
- NetSuite experience is preferred
- Fluency in Spanish and English is preferred
- Previous experience in the software industry
- Previous consolidations experience
- Previous experience using NetSuite
- Fluent in Spanish in addition to English
- Experience working for a Wealth Management, FinTech or Enterprise software vendor
The Work Environment
- Our location is downtown Toronto in a midsized office environment
- Work may be inoffice, remote or hybrid, collaborating with other team members inpersonal and digitally during regular business hours
- Some work outside of normal business hours may be required on occasion due to timeconstrained activities or collaborating with remote teams
