THE ROLE

The Day camp supervisor plays an important role, providing quality leisure programs, services and facilities to our military members' children.


Our services are tailored to help families with the challenges they may face due to military life and make the most of everyday activities such as going to day camp.

We believe that when members of the Canadian Armed Forces are able to take good care of themselves and their families, they can do better both at home and at work.

We are looking for dynamic, self-sufficient and motivated individuals to join our team, helping us ensure recreation is all about fun

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED Education, Certifications and Licenses**High school diploma

Certification in one recreation program area

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications

HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)

HIGH FIVE QUEST 2 (successful completion by end of probation)

HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)


Experience
In planning, organizing and evaluating the operations and delivery of recreation programs (day camp)

In program development and instruction

In supervising personnel

In supervising the work of volunteers

In budget administration


Competencies
Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

OTHER INFORMATION
Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg).


This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.


PSP:

Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs.

Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.


START DATE
As soon as possible and until August 23, 2024


POSITION TYPE


Casual (less than 13 hours/week) until the start of the day camp, then temporary full-time position during the summer (9 weeks).
