Reporting to the City Manager, the Chief Equity Officer leads the implementation of the City's Equity Framework and acts as a central resource to all City of Vancouver departments, services, and programs.
With leadership from the Chief Equity Officer, the Equity Office acts as catalyst, leader, collaborator, convener, and educator across the City's business units, supporting units with building the policies, tools, and practices to maintain the commitment to equity.
This Office builds capacity and enables the City's workforce to promote and model equity principles and practices in the community and within the organization, advancing the City towards its objective of excellence in local government, and sustaining an organization culture that is inclusive, welcoming, and responsive to the needs of under-represented and marginalized groups.
Leading a small team of direct reports and working closely with the City Leadership Team and the Senior Director, Indigenous Relations, the Chief Equity Officer identifies and prioritize gaps and opportunities to achieve a consistent organization-wide model of excellence in demonstrating the principles of equity.
The City's COVID-19 vaccination policy is currently suspended and as a result, vaccination against COVID-19 is not required at this time.
However, should circumstances change and the City deem it necessary to re-introduce such policy, you may be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 in order to be eligible to continue performing your duties.
