ROLE PURPOSE

The Manager of Facilities & Maintenance Service will ensure all facilities and properties, both owned and leased by Connective, are functioning safely, efficiently, and effectively.

They will implement structures and support to ensure that Connective's assets are well maintained.

They will support key common initiatives and projects (capital and otherwise) that are strategically aligned to serve clients, employees, and volunteers.

REPORTING AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports and is accountable to the Senior Manager of Building Infrastructure
  • Participates as a member of Connective's management
  • Liaises with staff, contractors, government agencies, and members of the community as required

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manages the Facility Maintenance Technician(s) and Facility Maintenance Worker(s) within the Property Services/Infrastructure team
  • Optimize and manage all propertyrelated processes and systems (such as the Society's computerized maintenance management systems)
  • Foster effective relationships throughout the organization especially between internal Program Managers and various service providers/contractors
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance requests with internal resources and external service providers/contractors
  • Ensures Connective meets regulatory and accreditation requirements in relation to properties, including the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) standards and the Occupational Health & Safety requirements up to and potentially including holding designated responsibilities for emergencies such as fire and/or earthquake
  • Develop and monitor operational budgets for all properties and assists in the creation of the facilities capital plans and projects for our owned and leased properties
  • Review and approve invoices in a timely manner to maintain positive and responsive relationships with our service providers.
  • Participates in continuous proactive initiatives by identifying opportunities for improvement in costs, quality, customer service, and assets
  • Available after office hours/weekends oncall, as a member on the Properties On-Call Schedule, in event of emergencies related to properties, maintenance and facilities
  • Any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree, diploma and/or trade certificate in a relevant discipline or an acceptable combination of education, training, and experience
  • 5 years of recent experience in asset management, operations management, or property management
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high level of customer service
  • Ability to manage and coordinate a work team across regions
  • Flexibility to travel within the Interior of BC
  • High proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication skills (listening, verbal, and written)

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Ability to successfully complete a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Records Check
  • Ability to successfully pass a reference check
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license or equivalent
  • Proof of Covid19 vaccination
Compensation
The wage range for this position is $66.6k to $80k
