Description

Reporting to the Quality Engineer the Junior Quality Technician, ensures the highest standards of product quality and accuracy by conducting comprehensive inspections, measurements, and validations.

Collaborating closely with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team, production floor, and tool room, you will be responsible for part qualification, fixture design, and measurement program development.

Your expertise in reading engineering drawings, utilizing GD&T symbols, and statistical knowledge will contribute to maintaining rigorous quality standards throughout the production process


Position Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with the NPI team to perform measurement and validation of First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) ensuring alignment with design specifications.
  • Participate in part qualification processes by conducting Gauge R&R studies, Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) assessments.
  • Develop measurement programs for CMM, Vision systems, and other Inspection Machines (IM) to ensure accurate and consistent measurements.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge to interpret engineering drawings featuring GD&T symbols and ensure alignment with quality standards.
  • Perform firstoff inspections, making critical decisions in approving or rejecting parts based on established quality criteria.
  • Conduct sample testing and inspections during ongoing production processes, using manual methods and CMM as necessary.
  • Calibrate and maintain gauges, equipment, and tools to guarantee accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Ensure timely calibration and maintenance activities, minimizing disruptions in the production process.
  • Utilize a variety of gauges to verify the quality of incoming materials.
  • Any other related duties

Skills:


  • Knowledge of statistical methodologies to analyze data and support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Experience in utilizing various inspection tools, including CMM, Vision systems, and manual gauges.
  • Ability to make critical decisions independently, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Familiarity with calibration processes, with handson experience being a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills.

Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour
