Duties and Responsibilities:


Reporting to the Director, Campus and Community Recreation, the incumbent works to inspire healthy & active lifestyles for students through Campus Recreation and is responsible for liaising with internal and external customers for the purposes of renting the athletic facilities.

The incumbent is also responsible for issuing rental agreements and processes the payment based on the Department's policies and procedures.

The incumbent will work the Varsity and Competitive Club Coordinators to reserve all facility requests for the varsity teams and club programs.

In addition, the incumbent will be involved in improving processes where appropriate and providing athletic facility tours to various groups.


Qualifications:


The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:

Fully conversant and up to date with all departmental policies and programs, to a level that enables him/her to inform the part time staff and the general public.

The incumbent must be able to communicate clearly, in both written and oral forms, with staff and clientele.

The incumbent will commit to continuing training in the areas of:

  • Systems: Fusion, WebAdmin, Guard Card
  • Standard First Aid, CPR, AED, and WHMIS;
  • AODA;
  • Prevention of Violence and Sexual Harassment Certificate
  • BANNER payroll;
  • It is required that the incumbent be available to work on weekends and evenings.

In addition, the incumbent:

  • Must have knowledge of best practices and industry standards in Customer Service.
  • Must have knowledge of marketing practices related to the sport industry as well as the products and services offered in the Department.
  • Must have experience in Word Processing and spread sheets.
  • A high degree of independence, allowing for initiatives to develop flexibly, quickly and appropriately.
  • A proven ability to elicit and foster trust, develop positive working relationships and work effectively with other athletic professionals.
  • Ability to exercise discretion, good judgement, and solid decisionmaking.
  • Organizational skills and time management abilities are essential. The incumbent must be result oriented, assuming responsibility for development, implementation and completion of projects/initiatives.

Education and Experience:


The above is normally acquired through:

  • Completion of a two year post-secondary college diploma in administration, sports management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience administering and coordinating facility usage and space. Equivalencies would be considered.
