Position Purpose:


  • Formulate and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies aimed at attracting highcaliber talent to the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, including recruitment agencies, postsecondary institutions, and industry organizations.
  • Provide consultancy to hiring managers, aligning them with Alectra recruitment practices and educating them on the current talent landscape.
  • Support initiatives that enhance our employer brand and contribute to effective talent attraction, participating in various Talent Acquisitionrelated projects.
  • Develop, monitor and report on key recruitment metrics and KPIs to inform decision making
  • Propose recommendations for adopting new technologies, such as interview scheduling software, to streamline Talent Acquisition processes.
  • Develop and facilitate training sessions for the business on Talent Acquisition topics, such as inclusive hiring training
  • Stay abreast of Talent Market trends, best practices, and continuously improve Talent Acquisition procedures accordingly.
  • Conduct intake meetings to ensure full understanding of client expectations and strategic objectives
  • Acquire a deep understanding of the company's organizational structure and the desired skill sets and profiles for each position.
  • Defend hiring decisions and manage union disputes related to selection decisions
  • Work within legislative requirements, standards and regulations, collective agreements, Company practices and protocols;
  • Act as a change champion, supporting and promoting changes to our recruitment processes, technologies and programs as required.
  • Mentor the Advisor, Talent Acquisition by sharing knowledge, recruitment best practices and effective sourcing strategies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education & Specialized Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related discipline
  • CHRP Designation preferred and in good standing with HRPA
  • Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) designation is an asset
  • Specialized knowledge and capability in Talent Acquisition with experience in building a talent acquisition strategy
  • Expertise using social media and other online tools for strategic sourcing and other talent acquisition initiatives
  • Strong working knowledge of various MS office software programs, Talent Acquisition Software such as LinkedIN Recruiter, scheduling software, Sharepoint and Ceridian Dayforce TAS
  • Knowledge of human resources policies, practices and processes, particularly in areas of employment laws and labour relations.
  • Uptodate knowledge of the Ontario Labour Relations Code, the Employment Standards Act, the Occupational Health & Safety Act and all other applicable legislation

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and leading talent acquisition processes across multiple business units
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in high volume, fullcycle recruitment role using a multichannel sourcing approach
  • Experience recruiting in a unionized environment

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with senior and middle management business leads
  • Exceptional storytelling and influencing skills to positively represent Alectra in the market as an employer of choice
  • A strong, clear communicator who knows how to keep all stakeholders on the same page
  • Highly selfdirected and solutionoriented with a high sense of urgency to deliver results and meet business deadlines
  • Solid problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to provide practical and/or innovative solutions to complex issues
  • Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an organized and concise way
  • Must hold and maintain a valid class "G" driver's licens
