What you'll need to have

You have previous experience in the Health and Safety and Security sector and/or Safety and Security experience within a Retail environment.
You are CPR and Basic First Aid certified. (Having a valid provincial security license is an asset but not necessary)
You're knowledgeable of relevant safety standards and regulations, security processes, tools and working methods.
You're energized by the implementation of safeguards that bring value to the business and protect the financial and moral position; you can ensure the integrity of safety and security systems, guidelines and documentation.
You know how to conduct a risk assessment and implement the hierarchy of controls.
You have good communication and documentation skills in dealings with various levels of management.
You think and work in a riskbased way (i.e. Evaluate tradeoffs between potential costs and benefits and acts accordingly).
You have good analytical and numerical skills.

A day in your life with us

Ensure that a safe and secure environment is always maintained in our unit and on our property for our customers and our coworkers.
Respond to all Safety and Security needs promptly and perform First Aid or other emergency/security procedures as required to meet these needs.
Open and close the store as scheduled following IKEA procedures.
Regularly perform all operational and safety audits as required
Conduct assigned Safety and Security investigations and followup on all incident reports in a timely manner.
Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as, including supporting your teammates with their responsibilities as needed.
