Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Specialist


Responsibilities:


  • Working together with the Communications Specialist, provides support to internal and external clients to develop and prepare written material for internal and external communications including media releases, press kits, magazines, brochures, flyers, and posters
  • Provides layout and design support for various communication pieces that reflect Northwood's brand
  • Provides support in the planning and preparation for special events, media relations, photography and marketing material
  • Provides communication support to the various departments
  • Completion of a recognized university degree or community college certification in Public Relations/Communications, graphic design or Journalism
  • Minimum five years of experience in communications, journalism graphic design or related occupation
  • Experienced in layout and design, editing and proofreading and with print/production processes
  • Experienced in writing editorial content
  • Adobe Programs
  • Knowledge of Web site design and content
  • Knowledge of Social Media
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Ability to multitask while working to meet tight deadlines
  • Communications and Media
  • Knowledge of Social Media
  • Knowledge of WordPress
  • Proficient in the use of windowsbased software including MS Office Suite (with an emphasis on MS Word), Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Word Press
  • Able to work independently and as a positive and productive team player
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask while working to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis

Salary:
As per Northwood Scale

Hours: 80 hours bi-weekly
