Payroll Clerk - Toronto

RVA has an excellent career opportunity, in our Toronto office, for a full-time payroll clerk.


Duties:


  • Collecting and verifying timesheets
  • Prepare, process and verify all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, overtime pay, benefit payments and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay
  • Entering employee information and payroll data into Day Force and Deltek system
  • Answering employees' questions and concerns regarding payroll
  • Processing new employees, promotions, and terminations
  • Issuing statements detailing earnings and deductions
  • Issuing and delivering paychecks to employees
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Maintaining and updating payroll records
  • Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as yearend tax statements, pension, Records of Employment and other statements.

Qualifications:


  • Degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Previous experience in a payroll department
  • Familiarity with general accounting principles
  • Knowledge of payroll software is beneficial
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good math and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Team player
