Payroll Clerk - TorontoRVA has an excellent career opportunity, in our Toronto office, for a full-time payroll clerk.
Duties:
- Collecting and verifying timesheets
- Prepare, process and verify all employee payroll related payments, including regular pay, overtime pay, benefit payments and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay
- Entering employee information and payroll data into Day Force and Deltek system
- Answering employees' questions and concerns regarding payroll
- Processing new employees, promotions, and terminations
- Issuing statements detailing earnings and deductions
- Issuing and delivering paychecks to employees
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies
- Maintaining and updating payroll records
- Prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as yearend tax statements, pension, Records of Employment and other statements.
Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a payroll department
- Familiarity with general accounting principles
- Knowledge of payroll software is beneficial
- Strong attention to detail
- Good math and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Team player
