Position Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe facility/environment, which meets the high expectations of the facilities patrons, providing janitorial, minor mechanical maintenance, room set ups and take downs as well as providing basic customer service to patrons of the facility.


Responsibilities
Working in a variety of community centre locations or indoor pools and reporting to the Operations Coordinator, responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Ensuring that we provide safe, clean and available facilities for our customers in a fast-paced multi-use environment;
  • Coordinating with contracted services for a variety of disciplines (HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, security, etc.)
  • Main point of contact for rental groups, contracted services, and internal clients
  • Providing task supervision and scheduling for parttime staff.


As the most senior facility operations staff in a facility is responsible for basic safety measures, including acting as Fire Warden for the facility when required.


Requirements:

The following certifications and/or experience are considered an asset:

  • Certification in Pool Operation (CPO) or equivalent
  • Building management and operations
  • Exposure to Community Recreation facilities
  • Experience working with monitoring/reporting on facility operating budgets
  • Experience with a building automation system


Strong communication, organizational skills and the ability to solve problems both independently and in a team environment are a must in this position.

The successful applicant will be required to work a varied schedule depending on the needs of facilities which will include days, evenings and weekends.

A valid G Class driver's licence is required with an acceptable driver's abstract (no more than three (3) driving related convictions and an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire).
