Position Description:


Clinical Research Project Coordinator - Anthony Lab
The Clinical Research Project Coordinator (CRPC) coordinates clinical research studies according to regulatory and institutional guidelines and requirements.

This includes coordinating participant recruitment, data collection, data entry and analysis, study administration, and preparing consents and paperwork required by the Research Ethics Board.

The CRPC also assists in the preparation of study results, including presentations, progress reports, and manuscripts.


Program of research summary:

Dr.

Samantha Anthony's program of research focuses on establishing an evidence-based foundation for successful psychosocial adaptation and enhanced quality of life for individuals with chronic disease, with a specific focus on pediatric solid organ transplantation.


Two key components of her research program include:
(1) systematically integrating patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) into clinical practice to enhance patient care and improve health outcomes; and (2) developing and evaluating digital health technologies which deliver innovative self-management, peer mentoring and transitional care interventions.


Specific job duties include:


  • Initiate study setup, and obtain and maintain research ethics approval and research ethics amendments.
  • Participate in study recruitment, consenting, participant followup, and data collection.
  • Oversee and participate in data management (e.g., data cleaning and data entry) and quantitative/qualitative data analysis.
  • Keep abreast of regulations and policies governing clinical research.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders.
  • Encourage and foster collaborative relationships with healthcare teams at SickKids, other participating centres and government and community agencies.
  • Attend relevant departmental meetings and rounds to increase knowledge and understanding.
  • Develop and monitor study timelines.
  • Assist with design/development of knowledge translation materials, including posters and newsletters.

Here's what you need:


  • Master's degree in a Health Science discipline.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in clinical research.
  • Ability to function both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • High precision and attention to detail, patience and ability to work with complex tasks.
  • Familiarity with both quantitative and qualitative research methodology including conducting interviews and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Previous experience working with quantitative (e.g., SAS) and qualitative (e.g., NVivo) software is an asset.
  • Previous experience with online databases (e.g., REDCap) is an asset.
  • Experience in a pediatric clinical research is an asset.
  • Superior communication, organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships.
