Position Summary:


Key Accountabilities:


  • Provides guidance on the development, delivery, and communication of compensation programs
  • Researches and recommends adoption of best practices as it relates to total rewards programs and policies
  • Provides compensation recommendations (e.g. new hires, promotions/demotions, acting, ad hoc increases) ensuring internal equity and adherence to policy
  • Completes all activities related to the nonunion annual compensation review process
  • Maintains all electronic records relating to job descriptions and job evaluation process
  • Responsible for maintaining union and nonunion salary structures
  • Manages the completion and submission of compensation surveys, salary planning surveys and benchmarking data
  • Conducts custom compensation surveys from relevant sources and leverages findings to support recommendations
  • Conducts detailed research, analysis, reporting and forecasting as it relates to compensation programs
  • Analyzes economic indicators, market data and trends to support external competitiveness
  • Assists in the development, analysis and implementation of Pay Equity plans supporting legislative compliance
  • Utilizes expert level knowledge of applicable legislation (e.g. Pay Equity, etc.) to support legislative compliance

Qualifications:


  • Must have a postsecondary degree or diploma in Human Resources and/or Compensation and/or 7 of years of combined equivalent work experience and education
  • Completion of or progression towards Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Compensation
  • Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment
  • Must be able to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

  • Strong numerical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail
  • Able to understand business needs and work collaboratively with leadership and HR colleagues to provide sound advice and counsel and to develop solutions
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively at all levels in the organization
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written); ability to communicate complex information clearly and at a level appropriate for the audience
  • Experience in UKG
  • Demonstrated discretion, confidentiality, and sound judgment
  • Exceptional administrative and organizational skills working with a high level of efficiency
  • Deep knowledge of compensation programs in a union and nonunionized setting
  • Knowledge of market job evaluation approaches including Mercer IPE
  • Total remuneration analysis and research
