Retail and Commissary Operations Manager for our very large Remote Site located in Northern British Columbia. This role will require you to work with a rotation of 14 days in camp, 7 days out.

Job Description:


In your new role you will manage the retail operation at a large single site to grow revenue, ensure client satisfaction and retention of services.

You will Responsible for food quality & customer service in an operation that may have branded concepts or other retail offerings.

Key Duties

  • Ensures there is a zeroharm mindset for ourselves, our customers, our food & employees. Directs daily operations of food quality & customer service in a retail food operation that may include branded concepts ensuring that employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources.
  • Manages cash handling protocols & control procedures according to Sodexo policies.
  • Maintains client satisfaction for food quality & customer service.
  • Accountable for the execution of service quality by maintaining the highest level of delivery. Supervises daytoday work activities of food service workers, supervisors & managers. Collaborates with Regional Retail Manager (E&R) and acts as a liaison between unit manager(s), regional retail support function.

Unit retail operations management: Manages the day-to-day retail operations including stores, lounge and e-commerce. This includes process and company compliance, marketing, innovation, retail technology and food service policy, purchasing and inventory management, menu management, cost control and quality assurance, technical POS support issues and customer service. Collaborates to organize special events to drive growth.

People Management:

Manages, leads and develops salaried and frontline employees including but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, conveying policies and procedures to employees, addressing HR issues and performance evaluations.
Lead a team to deliver consistent quality service in the retail outlets by example and provide support to team with a focus on health & safety and operational procedures.

Unit retail operations financial management and growth:Contributes to financial segment retail revenue and growth targets, KPI's, policy. Accountable for units' retail financials in alignment with segment targets. This includes but not limited to driving revenue and profitability, financial reporting (alignment of forecasting, budget management); offer execution, operationalize business plans, adhere to contractual policy. Will participate in financial reporting.


Qualifications:


  • High school education or equivalent education and experience. Culinary education, marketing, business are assets.
  • 2 + years operations and management experience preferably in restaurant, lounge and convenience operations
  • 2 + years in menu and food management, stock control including inventory management, ordering, pricing and analytics.
  • Understanding of relevant retail technology (point of sales systems ecommerce, vending, micromarkets)
  • Experience in supply chain, inventory management and vendor ordering portals
  • 2 + years' experience in a leadership role including Human Resources related responsibilities which may include recruitment, health and safety, scheduling, training, performance management, recognition, and development.
  • Experience managing staff in a unionized environment.
  • Experience managing multiple retail operations and projects with stakeholders.
