GardaWorld is the largest provider of aviation services for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA), offering screening services in 28 airports across Canada.


We are currently recruiting a Quality Lead for the Winnipeg International Airport. This is a full-time temporary position for up to 3 months with the possibility of extension. This is a unionized position and seniority will be strictly followed.

Job Description - Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Conducting active oversight of the Pre-Board Screening (PBS), Non Passenger Screening (NPS) and Hold Baggage Screening (HBS) operations
  • Oversee and document compliance with CATSA's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GardaWorld's Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Collect data to measure SOP compliance and performance
  • Provide coaching, correction and overall feedback to Screening Officers and Checkpoint Managers
  • Intervene immediately if parts of the screening process were not completed or if critical aspects of the screening process were performed incorrectly
  • Assist with the development and tracking of Corrective Action Plans
  • Assist with breach and unsuccessful infiltration test investigations
  • Conduct or assist with audits, as requested (CATSA, CGSB, and/or Internal Audits)

Job Requirements:


  • Must be a Canadian Citizen or a permanent resident as defined in the Immigration Act with an employment authorization document
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • No previous criminal background for which a pardon has not been granted
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Willing and able to work outside regular working hours and able to work shifts
  • Post-Secondary education in related field or combination of education and work experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (i. e. Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in related field
  • Bilingual (English, French) would be an asset
  • Certification as a Screening Officer would be an asset
  • Oversight and/or auditing experience is an asset
  • A training background is an asset
  • A valid driver's license

Skill Requirements:


  • Excellent communication skills; fluent in written and oral English
  • High level of comfort dealing with a variety of customer interactions/escalations
  • Highly organized and results driven individual who is able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work within a structured, highly regulated environment

  • Periodic travel to the Prairie's Class 2 and Class 3 airports to perform QL duties

  • Written test(s) may be administered.
  • Interviews and reference checks will be conducted.
  • Travel may be required for training. Other travel may be requested when assistance is required at other airports.
