LandSolutions is looking to expand their talent pipeline in the Greater Toronto Area to service our clients by supporting the Talent Sourcing team in our Asset Management Division.

The Role

Responsibilities:


  • Conduct research and analysis to forecast land use and potential challenges to utility developments.
  • Develop and implement plans, policies, and regulations for land use, specifically in the utility industry.
  • Work with government officials, developers, and community stakeholders to ensure that plans and policies are implemented in alignment with our client's needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing plans and policies and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinate public participation in planning and development processes, including holding public meetings and gathering feedback from residents and businesses.
  • Ensure that development projects comply with applicable regulations and guidelines, including zoning laws, environmental regulations, and building codes.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as architects, engineers, and other various contractors, to ensure that the design of future projects is in harmony with public policies
  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate planning recommendations and decisions to stakeholders and the public.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in urban planning, geography, architecture, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of land use planning, urban design, and municipal policy and processes.
  • Experience in executing official plan amendments, and zoning appeals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, community members, and developers.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to land use planning and development.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Professional certification, such as Registered Professional Planner (RPP), is an asset.
