The Opportunity:

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Produce Clerk at St. Vital Food Store located at 850 Dakota Street, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This position reports to the Produce Manager.

The Produce Clerk adds value to our Co-operative by being responsible for delivering world-class customer service; ordering and stocking fresh fruit and vegetables; merchandising and displaying product; producing value added product; and maintaining department cleanliness and housekeeping standards.

Essential responsibilities of the position include the following:

Maintain sections of merchandise (fresh fruit and vegetables, bagged salads, herbs, salad dressings and spreads, value added section, etc.) as assigned in an effective manner. Ensure first-in, first-out rotation is followed at all times, and that close-dated product is reported to the Produce Manager.
Ensure the Produce Department is properly stocked with merchandise and faced at all times.
Receive, inspect, and store orders upon delivery to ensure all product is immediately stored in proper temperaturecontrolled environment.
Follow established procedures for trimming and preparation, washing, culling and quality policing, and price marking.
Prepare fresh value added product as per established Coop recipes and procedures. Ensure consistency in ingredients used and preparation method at all times.

We are looking to fill one vacancy for this position.

This vacancy requires morning availability starting at 6:00am and afternoon availability until 5:00pm all days of the week, including weekends.

You will be scheduled 24 hours most weeks.
