Basic Function:


The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination and operational support for Human Resources function, including assisting with the development and delivery of training programs, and orientation.

The position participates in providing Labour Relations support and handles HR related queries. This position will assist and provide support in implementing the Strategic Plan.

This opportunity exists to support the Learning & Development function as well as provide General HR Support

  • Coordinating and facilitating training including, leading orientation sessions for staff
  • Assisting in creating content for the Learning Management System (LMS), as well as running reports.
  • Organizes the staff newsletter and provide administrative support.

Responsibilities:


  • On a regular basis, coordinates and organize learning and training initiatives including booking the meeting space, sending Outlook invitations, organizing refreshments, and organizing and preparing the training materials, take minutes if required.
  • Facilitation and leading of onsite orientations for all new staff.
  • On a daily basis, monitors the Talent Development inbox, using own initiative to deal with any enquiries directly or take messages when appropriate.
  • Provides various administrative support including:
  • Booking rooms and coordinating with other teams as to space accommodations
  • Collecting and sharing feedback evaluations
  • Reformat and proofread documents (e.g., marketing material, course materials) using Word, Excel and / or PowerPoint; suggest alternatives as appropriate.
  • Working with appropriate stakeholder to keep the TZ Learns calendar and slide resources updated.
  • Assists in creating, planning, and designing content and materials for the LMS.
  • Running and issuing varying L&D reports/training records
  • Followthrough on assigned action items, keeping relevant team members informed of updates.
  • Aiding with Talent Development supported programs and initiatives.
  • Updating of the TZ Learns SharePoint page.
  • Acts as point of contact for the Human Resources branch.
  • Provides administrative support within the HR Branch.
  • Assists in the administration of employee recognition programs.
  • Processes all HR related invoices and PRs.
  • Ensures that management receives appraisal forms and monitors the completion to track if evaluations are conducted in a timely manner.
  • Organizes the staff newsletter.
  • Ensures that Human Resources documentation for staff is prepared and processed and that all clerical duties within the Branch, including filing (paper & electronic) and the preparation and processing of correspondence, memorandums and reports, are done within a timely manner.
  • Arranges various meetings and takes meeting minutes as required.
  • Assists with planning/coordination of new initiatives/programs and participates in different activities/events e.g., wellness, culture, equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Responds to management or staff regarding matters pertaining to employment legislation or the collective agreement and policy administration.
  • Assists with HR related events.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Currently enrolled in or graduate of a Human Resources postsecondary program (preferred interest in Organizational Development/Talent Development/Learning & Development), or the equivalent amount of training and related experience. CHRP designation is an asset.
  • Must have 2 years of previous Human Resources, including learning and development experience.
  • Experience in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Possess good office skills, including the ability to take accurate notes or minutes.
