The Ministry of Attorney General is responsible for government law reform, the administration of justice and for providing legal services that ensure lawful public administration.
Court Services Branch is responsible for the delivery of all court administration services in British Columbia.
These consist of registry and trial support for the Provincial Court, Supreme Court and Court of Appeal, prisoner custody and escort, courthouse security and the provision and maintenance of courthouse facilities.
Job Requirements:
- Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED)
- 2 years recent experience working in a legal environment; or 1 year experience working in Court Administration
- Must have or be eligible to obtain Certification as a Deputy District Registrar for Supreme Court within 6 months (if a Supreme Court Location)
- Experience in Court Programs and Applications (JUSTIN, CEIS, CCD, ARC, CTAS)
- Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk
- Experience as a Deputy District Registrar for Supreme Court
Provisos:
- Must be willing to complete relevant training programs
- May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.
- May be required to work flexible hours on short notice, including varied shifts
- May be required to work overtime on short notice
- May be required to work in other areas of Court Services Branch
